Journey: Begin your horse riding adventure in Georgia and transfer to Mestia, the capital of Svaneti region. This journey introduces you to the rugged beauty of Georgian landscapes, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
Free Time in Mestia: Upon arrival, take the afternoon to relax and explore Mestia at your leisure. Wander through its cobblestone streets, admire the medieval Svan towers, and perhaps visit the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography.
Overnight: Stay overnight in Mestia. Enjoy the hospitality of a local guesthouse and savor traditional Svaneti cuisine.
Morning: Depart by 4WD vehicle to Ushguli, one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. The drive offers unparalleled views of the Caucasus mountains, including the majestic Ushba and Tetnuldi peaks.
Noon: From Ushguli, start a horse ride to the base of Shkara Mountain. Venture through the Enguri Valley to the river’s source, against the dramatic backdrop of the Caucasus.
Evening: Return to Ushguli for an overnight stay. Experience the hospitality of local guesthouses and savor more traditional dishes.
Morning to Afternoon: Set out on a horse ride from Ushguli to panoramic viewpoints of the Great Caucasus. The trail leads over crests and through verdant valleys to pristine alpine lakes, offering great view of Great Caucasus.
Evening: Spend another night in Ushguli, allowing more time to explore this extraordinary village, its medieval towers, and to interact with the local community.
Morning: The day’s ride takes you towards the Zagaro Mountain pass. This route offers a challenging but rewarding journey to the source of the Tkhenistkhali River.
Afternoon: Return to Ushguli by horse and then travel back to Mestia via 4WD.
Morning: After breakfast, prepare for the transfer out of Mestia. You might have some free time for last-minute exploration or shopping for local crafts.
Afternoon: Depart from Mestia, taking with you memories of an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Georgian Caucasus, enriched by the history, culture, and natural beauty of this unique region.
