Ride through mountain woods to get to a small but charming lake, locally called Chil Gol. On the
lakefront, you will enjoy your picnic lunch and then continue your journey towards Sedvi Gorge. The
gorge is a favorite resting area for locals due to its natural beauty. From the beginning of August till late
September you can enjoy diverse berries on the trails and in a raspberry plantation, situated in the very
middle of the gorge. On the upper hillside of Sedvi Gorge is located the same-name Sedvi monastery of
the 13th century and a watchtower. By crossing the smaller river you will explore the partly survived
medieval shrines, and set up for the camp.
This morning ride your steed along Sedvi to Odzun passing by Hagvi hamlet, pasture lands, and
farms from where your trails will take you through the cornfields to the basilica-style Holy Virgin church
of the early Christian period, located in the center of the village. After visiting the monastery you will be
invited to a lunch break in a rural garden. And finally, your trails will lead you along the rim of Debed
Canyon to discover the Horomayr monastery, located at the edge of the rocky cliff. This site has been a
sacred place since the 7th century and was converted into an impressive monastic complex under the
auspices of the Zaqarid princely family at the end of the 12th century. Besides the ritual structures, the
location is attractive for its scenic view of the Debed Canyon and many predatory birds. Your last trails
will take you back to the stable, from where you will head to Tbilisi by car.
